Ona Izora died Dec 19, 1965 in the Erick Nursing Home.
Izora was the first of 10 children born to Henry T & Martha Elmira (Brackeen) McClinton.
She married William Luther Pennington on October 6, 1906 in Blossom, Texas making their residence there until moving to Greer County, Oklahoma, then later to Erick, Oklahoma. To this union were born 8 children. He preceeded her in death in 1935.
On January 21, 1946 she married J.R. McMillan in the Baptist Church of Sayre, Oklahoma. They lived in Sayre and Vinita Okl. After his death in 1962, she moved to Delhi, Oklahoma living in a home built for her directly behind the home of her daughter & son-in-law, Lorene & Hamill Kelley. Her son W.L Pennington had the home built for her.
Izora was a devoted wife, mother, homemaker and a member of the Baptist church.
Her sons, Burrel W. and Teddy Roosevelt Pennington preceeded her in death.
Survivors include four daughters; Mae Lundquist of Vacaville,Calif.; Lorene Kelley of Delhi, Ok; Dorothy Grimm of Oklahoma City; Maxie Hopkins of Horton, Texas and two sons: Murrel Pennington of Vinita, Okla.; W.L. Pennington of Wichita Falls, Texas; 14 grandchildren; seven sisters & one brother.
Services were held on Tuesday, Dec 21 at 2:00 pm in the First Baptist Church in Erick. Reverend Toby Walker & Reverend Jimmy Wilkerson officiated.
