EARLY COUNTY
RESIDENT DIES

Mrs. Myrtle York Passes At
Home In Loveland,(sic)
Texas

SAYRE, April 2.—Mrs. Myrtle York, 55, wife of J. P. York, died at the family home at Loveland,(sic) Texas, Wednesday morning after ran illness of short duration. The body arrived in Sayre today and funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon at the First Baptist church with Rev. John T. Daniels in charge.

Mrs. York, who was formerly Miss Myrtle Christopher, and Mr. York homesteaded near the Pioneer school house in this county in the early days long before statehood. They were community builders and took active part in both school and church activities. They moved to Texas less than two years ago where they have lived since.

Mrs. York is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Christopher, of Sayre, her husband, several children and grandchildren and brothers and sisters.

Interment will be made in the Pioneer cemetery, seven miles southwest of Sayre.

Death Note: Texas death certificate claims death was in the city of Lubbock, Texas. Levelland is probably the reference meant in the obituary rather than Loveland which is several miles west of the Lubbock County line.
