ODEN BERGSTROM
LAID TO REST
ON MONDAY
Oden Christian Bergstrom was born July 23, 1873 in Douglas county, Minn. He was one of seven children born to Olaf and Mary Bergstrom.
He was baptized and confirmed in the Spruce Hill Lutheran church on January 1, 1889.
After an illness of about three months he passed away at the Hibbard Rest Home in Alexandria.
At the time of his death he was 84 years, 11 months and 12 days old.
On April 7, 1897 he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Peterson of Osakis. To this union four children were born.
He has spent all his life, with the exception of the last few years when he lived in Osakis, in farming.
He has lived by himself most of the time since his wife passed away about five years ago and has enjoyed good health until about three months ago when he had a stroke.
Mr. Bergstrom was a kind and generous man, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Elizabeth, and a son, Charles. Also his father, mother, two sisters and three brothers.
He leaves to mourn his passing three daughters, Mrs. Kearney Frank of Osakis, Mrs. Donald Murdock, Walnut Creek, Calif. and Mrs. Lawrence Holte of Osaskis. Also one brother, Walter Bergstrom of Williston, N. Dak., and 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He will be sadly missed by his family and many friends.
Pallbearers were Haaskon Hanson, Roy Holm, Rudolph Bjorstrom, Walter Satter, Singvald Pederson and Oliver Anderson.
Interment was made at Lakeside cemetery at Osakis.
Out of town relatives and friends attending the services were from Alexandria, Long Prairie, Walnut Creek, Calif., Williston, No. Dak., St. Paul, Browerville and Douglas, No. Dak.
