PEARSON, Adolphus Pheland, 73, Hokes Bluff, died in a local hospital Saturday 2:30 a.m. after an extended illness. Survivors: daughter, Mrs. Ruth Mayhall, Hokes Bluff; sisters, Mrs. R. M. Archer, Birmingham, Miss Adell Pearson, Wilsonville, Ala.; brother, David Pearson, Birmingham; six grandchildren. Services Sunday. 2:30 p.m. Hokes Bluff Methodist Church, Rev. E. B. McGahee and Rev. H. J. Stansell officiating. Burial Whites Chapel Cemetery. Active pallbearers: Robert Christopher, Woodrow Christopher, Comer Hanks Jr., James E. Hanks, James H. Hanks, Billy R. Patterson, Thomas N. Sims, Bobby Sims. Honorary pallbearers: Members of the American Legion Post 175, Hokes Bluff, and members of the Morris Bible Class of the First Methodist Church of Hokes Bluff. Mr Pearson was a native of Leeds. Ala., and a resident of Etowah County most of his life. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Hokes Bluff, Morris Bible Class, American Legion Post 175 and was a veteran of W.W.I. The body will remain in Collier-Butler Chapel and lie in state in the church for one hour prior to the service.
