William W. Pennington, 78, of 907 S. Fourth, died at 8:15 a.m. Saturday in a local hospital. Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in the Walters First Baptist Church. Rev. John Evans, a Baptist association minister, will officiate. Burial will be in Walters cemetery under the direction of Becker Funeral Home. Born Feb. 18, 1883, in Chattanooga, Tenn., he married Myrtle McAlister at Midlothian, Tex., Sept. 13, 1902. They moved to Walters in 1915 and resided there for 30 years. They moved to Lawton 16 years ago. Survivors include his wife, of the home; five sons, W. W. Pennington, Lake Wood, Calif.; L. R., R. W., James L. and K.D. Pennington, all of Duncan; five daughters, Mrs. Pearl Reecer, Los Angeles, Calif.; Mrs. H. E. Nichols, Walters; Mrs. Jesses Stephensen of the home; Mrs. Maxine Owen, Ontario, Calif.; and Mrs. Floyd Riggs, Fort Sill; a brother, Grover Pennington, Cedar Hill, Tex.; a sister, Addie Haggard, Lubbock Tex.; 43 grandchildren, 33 great-great grandchildren and three great great great grandchildren.
