MRS. JULIETTE ANGLE PASSES ON SUNDAY
Long Time Resident is Buried Tuesday

Funeral Services for Mrs. Juliette Angle, 69, who died at her home in Durant at six o'clock Sunday afternoon of a sudden heart attack, were held at the residence on Tuesday morning at ten o'clock.
Mrs. Angle had been ill since Thursday noon but her condition was not thought to be grave up until Sunday. Her passing was a great shock to the members of her family.
She was the wife of the late J. A. Angle and came to Durant in her early marital life 48 years ago. She was a member of the Episcopal Church until coming to Durant where she affiliated with the Presbyterian Church.
The services were conducted by the Rev. G. M. Smiley, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, who was assisted by the Rev. E. S. Lewis and the Rev. W. R. Haynie. Interment was at Mizpah with Harold of Lexington in charge.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. J. D. Alsbury, Durant, and Mrs. E. C. Easterbrook, Seybrook, Illinois; One daughter-in -law, Mrs. Ina Angle; Two sisters, Mrs A. R. Teague, Mobile, Alabama, and Mrs. Jim Williams, Selma, Alabama. Six grand-children also survive,
The deceased was born in Mobile, Alabama, and had been a member of The Order of the Eastern Star up until the last few years.

Belle Juliette Jackson (Angle), born 29 March 1869, in Mobile, Alabama, died 22 August 1937 in Durant, Mississippi. She married John Andrew Angle, a railroad engineer, 2 December 1886. She had five children: Onie Louise Angle (Betty), Norma Meranda Angle (Alsbury), John Thomas Angle (Sr,), Bessie Juliette Angle (Easterbrook) and Horace Jackson Angle. Belle Juliette was nicknamed "Barba". Widowed 21 March 1899, at the age of 30, Belle Juliette gave to her family first and put herself last. She owned "Angle Boarding House". a store building on Madison Street, an a large 1500 acre farm in Attala County, Mississippi. Belle Juliette was a member of The Order of the Eastern Star. At Belle Juliette's death, she had been a resident of Durant, Mississippi for 48 years. An interesting fact: General Thomas Jonathan "Stonewall" Jackson was the uncle of Belle Juliette's great grandfather.
