HUGH GARNER HENDERSON, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001. He was 97. Mr. Henderson was a native Houstonian establishing the Hugh G. Henderson Company where he was owner and president for over 67 years. He was a member of the Arabia Shrine Temple, Masonic Lodge and served in World War II in the Army. Mr. Henderson was preceded in death by his wife Reba Henderson in 1988. He is survived by two daughters Judy Henderson of Austin, Texas and Susan Smith and husband, Temple of Houston; three grandchildren Stacy Smith and Courtney Smith both of Houston and Kim Stein and husband, John and their children, Faith and Matthew all of Denver, Colorado and nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to visitation with the family from 6 until 8 o'clock in the evening on Friday, March 9, 2001, at Geo. H. Lewis & Sons, 1010 Bering Drive. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 o'clock in the morning on Saturday, March 10, 2001, at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery, 6900 Lawndale Avenue, with Rev. David Snowdon of First United Methodist Church of Houston officiating.
