Sergeant First Class Kevin Lee Leech, 38, of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., whose sister and brother-in-law, Vickie and Ricky Staggs, reside in Knoxville, died Friday, May 28, 2010, at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

He was a native of Texarkana, Texas, former resident of Russellville, son of the late Judy Whorton Leech, attended Russellville High School, 1990 graduate of Atwood High School in Illinois, served in the military for 19 years as a combat engineer and was an Army veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom, volunteer fireman with the St. Roberts Fire Department near Fort Leonard Wood, Mo., served as a youth softball coach, an avid outdoorsman, and was preceded in death by one brother, Bobby Leech Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Tracie Whych Leech; six daughters, Amber Leech and Carolyn J. Leech,Khodi Leatherwood and Kheli Bartlett,Tiffany Campos, and Kelley Leanne; one son, Nathan Leatherwood ; five grandchildren; father, Robert K. Leech of Gays, Ill.; maternal grandmother, Elsie Whorton ; one other sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and Billy Thomas ; and three brothers, Jerry Leech and Gary Leech,, and Steven Leech .

Funeral was Saturday, June 5, at Humphrey Funeral Service Chapel with Jim Bob Humphrey and Captain Faley of St. Roberts Fire Department officiating. Burial with full military honors was at East Point Cemetery in Russellville.
