OBITUARY

ESTHER L. SHERRETS ANSON

Funeral services for Esther L. Sherrets Anson, 92, will be Oct 17, 1:30 p.m. in Hope Wesleyan Church. The Revs. Leonard White and Kenneth Rumppe will officate. Music will be by Mrs. Lawrence Nabholz and Milly Freebern.

Burial will be in Quasqueton Cemetery with Larry Sherrets, Steve Sherrets, Scott Sherrets, Tom Fratzke and Terry Morris as casket bearers.

Anson died Oct 15, at People's Memorial Hospital. She was born July 18, 1893 in Walker, the daughter of Fred and Anna Kress Arnold.


She married Ray I. Sherrets Nov 25, 1912 in Walker. They made their home in the Quasqueton area until 1937, when they moved to Independence. He died in 1960. She married Harold Anson on Nov. 12, 1964, in Independence. He died in 1967.

She was a member of the Wesleyan Missionary Society, and was a charter member of Hope Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include five sons, Kenneth Dale Sherrets, Independence, William Sherrets, Mesa, Ariz., John Sherrets, Richard Sherrets and Donald Sherrets, Independence; two daughters Eva Bierman, Independence, and Phyllis Morris, Bethany, Okla.; 37 grandchildren, 70 great-grandchildren; one brother, John Arnold, Rowley; and two sisters, Mary Jones, Independence, and Lula Worstal, Quasqueton.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, one son Leonard Sherrets, in 1984; one brother Gilbert Arnold; and one sister, Millie Bright.

Friends may call at the Mason-Reiff Funeral Home 8-11 a.m. Thursday, and at Hope Wesleyan Chruch from 11:30 until time of service.
