LILLIAN CAROLINE NYSTROM OLSON was born March 31, 1916, at Arlington, South Dakota, the daughter of August and Anna (Norgaard) Nystrom. She did on Saturday, July 19, 1997, at the Brookings Hospital, Brookings, South Dakota, at the age of 81 years.
When she was one year old, the family moved to the Estelline, South Dakota, area. She received her education in rural schools and graduated from Estelline High School in 1934. On December 11, 1942, she was married to Rudolph Olson at Brookings, South Dakota. They farmed and continued to live on the farm until Mr. Olson's death on January 13, 1987. Since that time she has resided in Brookings.
Lillian was a member of First Lutheran Church in Brookings.
She is survived by two sons, Gordon Olson and his wife Carol of Minnetonka, Minnesota, and Gaylord and his wife Judy of Malta, Montana; one daughter, Janice Olson of Phoenix, Arizona; five grandsons, Bryan and Greggory Olson of Minnetonka, and Bradley, Bryce, and Brock Olson of Malta; one granddaughter, Stacy Olson of Minnetonka; three sisters, Julia Beekman and her husband Albertus of Estelline, Stella Moberg of Arlington, and Bettie Christensen of Bryant, South Dakota; one brother, Verner Nystrom and his wife Margaret of Estelline, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Rudolph; her parents; two sisters, and one brother.
