Laura was the last known of 11 children born to William Albert Totton (1829-1896) and Elizabeth Bradford Totton (1829-1870). She was preceeded in death by 5 siblings, and is buried next to her parents and paternal grandfather, Jasper Totton (1797-1879) in Griffis Cemetery. Three of her siblings: Mary, Georgeana & Edward E. were all buried in the DeLong-Delashmutt Pioneer Cemetery, Garfield Township, Mahaska, Iowa along with their uncle Milton Totton (William Albert's brother who probably had accompanied the family on their quest west from Ohio circa the 1850's).
