Acting Quartermaster - 5th Virginia Cavalry. He was appointed to this position. When he was paroled at Appomattox on 9 April 1865, he gave his occupation as merchant and his address as Fifth Street between Cary and Canal Streets. That would be in Richmond. He is the son of John Armistead Selden and Maria Pemberton Selden. He married Elizabeth Roberta Earl Taylor.
