Arthur was the son of Wiley Franklin Pool and Alice Wilson Edwards Pool. He was a farmer, justice of the peace, deputy sheriff and bridge foreman for the County of Lonoke.He married Blanch Katherine Lee on June 6, 1912 in Lonoke County, Arkansas. They were the parents of two sons and two daughters. In the later years of his life, he and his wife, Blanch, moved to the Geyer Springs area of Little Rock to be close to their children and grandchildren.
