The Rev.Benjamin Floyd Bowman,86, retired Church of the Brethren minister,died early this morning at his residence on Bethel Pike following an illness of several weeks.
He was born near Mooreland, spent his early years in that area and came to Delaware County about 1915.
Rev. Bowman was pastor of Antioch Church of the Brethren for several years and also served pastorates at Deshler Church, Deshler, Ohio, Fairview Church, near Lafayette and Upper Fall Creek, near Middletown. At various times he served interim pastorates at other churches. He was also employed at Delco-Remy in Anderson for many years.
Rev. Bowman was a member of Upper Fall Creek Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are his wife, Estel Bowers Bowman and his sister, Anne Burroughs, Carmel.
Services will be at Meeks Mortuary at 2:00 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Eldon Petrie and the Rev. Ronald Wyne officiating.Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery.
Calling hours are at the mortuary from 2 to 6 p.m.Saturday and any time prior to the services Sunday.
