Helen Vera Beige was born 6 Nov 1896 at Conneaut Lake, PA, ninth of 11 children born to Charles Oliver Beige and Harriet Estella Rust Beige. She grew up in Cambridge Springs, PA. On 28 Nov 1916 when she was age 20, Vera married Harold Hopkins, 3 years her senior. After only 2 years of marriage, Vera died of tuberculosis. She is buried in Venango Cemetery. Harold went on to marry a second time and have several children. He lived in Erie, PA.

From unspecified obituary. "Mrs Harold Hopkins ... died Monday evening, Jan 13, 1919 at the home of her sister, Mrs. Charles Comstock in Cleveland. The deceased was a victim of pleural pneumonia last August and never entrirely recovered from the effects of the disease, but it was hoped when the warm weather came she might be benefitted. On Thanksgiving Day she was taken with the influenza which terminated in an affection of the lungs which ended the life of one who had much to live for and was beloved by all. Brief services were held in Cleveland conducted by her pastor of the Glendale First ME Church after which the remains were brought to the (Cambridge) Springs on Wednesday accompanied by the funeral party, where services in her memory were held on Thursday afternoon at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Beige on South Main street. .... Mrs. Vera (Beige) Hopkins was born in Conneaut Lake Nov 6, 1896 and was 22y 2m 7d old at the time of her death. ... In November 28, 1916 she was united in marriage to Harold Hopkins of Townville and resided in Erie and later in Cleveland ..."

Her burial was Thursday at Venango Cemetery. She was 22 years old. Niece of Mr. T.D. Rust and sister of Mrs. Ernest Flaugh of Allegheny Street. She leaves beside her husband, her father and mother, three sisters and one brother. She died of tuberculosis.
