MRS. ELI DISMORE
Nettie Peel, daughter of Lockard and Mary Peel, was born in Boone county, Iowa, May 11th, 1862, and passed away at her late home on West Armory Avenue Saturday, April 9th, 1927, at the age of 64 years, 10 months and 28 days.
On June 10, 1882, she was united in marriage to Eli Dismore, of Afton, Iowa, where they resided for a short time. Later they removed to Angus, Iowa, where they made their home for a few years. In the year 1888 they moved to Chariton, Iowa, where they have made their home since.
To this union four daughters and one son were born: Mrs. Mary Lewis, of Sheridan, Wyo.; Mrs. Bessie Wheeler, of this city; Mrs. Laura Martin, of Anaconda, Mont.; Mrs. Vivian Drake, of Chariton, Iowa; and Lockard Dismore, of Chariton, Iowa, all of whom were present at the last services for their departed mother.
All of the children and the father have, throughout her long illness, done all that loving hands and cheerful hearts could do, and especially did her son, Lockard, devote the best part of his life to the care of his mother, which at this time is especially worthy of mention. Her physical condition was most painful, covering a period of at least fifteen years, during which time she always tried to look on the better side of life.
She loved her home and family and was devoted to them. Besides the husband and children, there are also three grandchildren, two sisters and one brother who survive her. Her many friends join with the members of the family in bereavement for the loss of a dear one.
She was a firm believer in the Bible as the Word of God and had great faith in the promises of the Lord and of his coming kingdom. A number of years ago she became interested in the faith and teachings of the International Bible Students Association, and with hope and joy looked forward to the great consummation of God's purposes in Christ.
Funeral services, conducted by J. L. Shelton, were held at the late home on West Armory avenue, Thursday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Chariton cemetery.
