Services Held Sunday For Odell Holland

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the First Methodist Church here for Odell C. Holland with Rev. L. E. Godwin officiating, assisted by Dr. S.W. Hayne.

Mr. Holland, age 37 years, died early Sunday morning at his home in Groom after a quite lengthy illness. He had been a resident of Donley County for over 30 years, having operated a grocery store at Lelia Lake for some time and operated a farm north of Lelia Lake. He was a member of the Lelia Lake First Baptist Church and was an active Mason. He had been a resident of Groom for the past 6 months.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille; four daughters, Jerlene Marie, Mary Dell, Janet Sue and Emma Katherine; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C.H. Holland, Clarendon; three brothers, Ray, of Clarendon; Addis of Gruver and Chester of Amarillo; five sisters, Mrs. Byron Simmons of Channing; Mrs. Cordie Radeitch of Los Angeles, Cal., Mrs. Addie Goodner of Amarillo, Mrs. Fay Neubauer of Amarillo and Mrs. Sid Pointer of Lelia Lake.

Pallbearers were Don Tomlinson, Arlie Wood, Ed Morton, Elis Chenault, Oscar Anderson and Delton Koen. Honorary pallbearers were James Smith, C.C. Carter, D.M. Cook, Nelson Seago, Leo Smith, Orval Hill, Quinn Aten, Pat Henton and Ray Hermesmeyer.

Burial was in Citizens Cemetery with the Murphy-Spicer Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
