Joseph W. Horn, 82, of 1817 S. Carroll St., died in his residence at 3:30 a.m. today after an illness of one week. Born June 27, 1888, at Wakarusa, he came to South Bend 47 years ago. On Nov. 27, 1912 in South Bend he married Lulu A. Penrose, who survives, along with two sons, Kenneth L. of Mishawaka and B. Lee of South Bend, two daughters, Mrs. Edna Kitch of Etna Green and Mrs. Nancy McIntyre of South Bend; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, John Morgan of Wakarusa and a sister, Mrs. Mabel Miller of South Bend. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday in the Forest G. Hay Funeral Home where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday with Rev. George Harris, pastor of Southside Christian Church, of which Mr. Horn was a member, officiating. Burial will be in Noffsinger Cemetery, Jimtown. Mr. Horn was a 33 year employee of the Studebaker Corp. retiring in 1958.
