Dr. Marinus Pulskamp

CELINA - Dr. Marinus Henry Pulskamp, 76, former Celina resident, died 4:15 a.m. Tuesday in Louisville, Ky.

Born here Sept. 21, 1892, he was the son of John B. and Anna Desch Pulskamp. He was married Nov. 3, 1926, in Continental to Beatrice Warner Pulskamp, who survives. A surgeon in proctology, Dr. Pulskamp retired nine years ago. He was professor emeritus of proctology at the University of Louisville and served as chief medical examiner for the City of Louisville from 1961 to 1967.

A 1918 graduate of St. Louis University School of Medicine, he served internships in St. Louis and Chicago. Associated with the University of Louisville from 1926 to 1959, he also was engaged in private practice. Dr. Pulskamp became chief medical officer for the U.S. Naval Ordnance plant in Louisville in 1959, serving until 1961.

Dr. Pulskamp, a member of Holy Spirit Church in Louisville and its men's club, also was a member of local, state, regional and national medical associations, the Catholic Physicians Guild, Catholic Order of Foresters, Catholic Knights of Ohio and fourth degree Knight of Columbus, Msgr. Bouchet General Assembly.

Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Richard (Clare Ann) Schultheis of 761 N. Main, Lima; five sisters, Sister Mary Loyola, R.S.M. of Fremont, Mrs. Felix Stelzer of Akron, Mrs. Bart Anthony of Wapakoneta, Miss Isabelle Pulskamp and Mrs. Roman VonderHaar, both of Celina; and three grandchildren.

The body will be taken to Hogenkamp Funeral Home, Lima, following services in Rottermann Funeral Home, Louisville. Burial will be in Gethsemani Cemetery, Lima.
