John is the son of John and Katherine M. Daly and was born in Brighton, Missouri. The family moved west to Ogden, Utah where he married Annie Marie Blackmore in 1912 before moving to Idaho. Annie died in 1921 In Rupert, Idaho. Together they had Julia, John, William and Kathleen. John owned a grocery store. He met and married Mary Birdie Roberts Oct 1936 and were newly weds of less than a year when John died from bronchial pneumonia after surgery. "Birdie" died within the year from complications from a boil.
