Evelyn C. Henry, 83, of Babbitt, died Sunday, May 9, 2010, at the Ely Bloomenson Nursing Home. She was born on Oct. 16, 1926, in Hibbing, to George and Agnes (Sheran) Griggs and grew up in Kelly Lake.

Evelyn graduated from the Hibbing High School and worked at the Post Office in Kelly Lake and in North Dakota.

On June 10, 1945, she married Patrick M. Henry in Quonset Point, Rhode Island. They lived in Marble and were Babbitt residents since 1963. Evelyn was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church of Babbitt; directed the church choir for many years and was a member of the Catholic Women's Council.

Evelyn is survived by her husband of 64 years, Patrick Henry; children: Patrick (Lucille) Henry, Coleen Henry, Nancy (Robert) Keegan, and Thomas Henry; grandchildren: Thomas, Katherine, Ann, Gail, Erin, Steven, Tracey and Angela; three great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Diane Henry.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Irene; and brothers: Daniel and Frank.

Inurnment was in Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
