Lewis A. Fisher, 83, longtime farmer and timberman of Swan Valley, died Sunday at the hospital at Driggs from causes incident to age.
He was born May 24, 1894, at Annis, Idaho the son of Isaiah and Susan Elizabeth Byington Fisher. The family moved to Swan Valley when he was 10 years old and he attended schools in both Annis and Swan Valley.
He married Margaret Butler Dec. 24, 1918 and they were later divorced. He has worked as a timberman, farmer, and sheepman at Swan Valley except for a time when he worked for Potlatch Forest in northern Idaho.
He was a member of the LDS Church.
For the last three years he had been living with his daughter at Jackson, Wyo.
He is survived by two sons and two daughters: Henry (Jack) Fisher of Taylor; Mrs. Merland (Donnetta) Nelson of Sterling; Mrs. Rulan (Naomi) Jacobson of Jackson, and Marvin D. Fisher of Phoenix, Ariz.
There are 23 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are three sister and one brother: Mrs. Glen (Ila) Barker of Vernal, Utah; Avis Linville, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; Mrs. Carl (Arba) Kelly of Burbank, Calif.; and Kenneth Fisher of Rigby.
He was preceded in death by two sons.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at the Wood Chapel of the Pines with Bishop Donald O. Jacobson of the LDS Palisades Ward officiating.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Wood funeral Homes.
Interment will be in the Little Butte Cemetery at Annis.
