Funeral Services were conducted Friday afternoon at the Ord Methodist Church for Mrs. Christine Larsen 80, widow of the late Louis S Larsen. Rev C Jeppesen officiating. Mrs. Larsen died at the Ord Hospital, Oct 1, after an illness of one week.
With Mrs. Viola Kellison accompanying at the organ, Valborg Aagaard sang "Our Father has light in His Window" and "Beyond the Sunset". Bearers were Howard Fause, Glen Watts, Bolish Kapustka, Harold Marshall, Raymond Richardson and Leon Wood. Interment was in the Ord Cemetery.
Mrs. Larsen was born at Thirsted, Denmark, Febr 26, 1877, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs Jens Kjar. She came to the U.S. as a young woman. settling near Ord. She was married to Louis S. Larsen on June 22, 1911 at Ord. Mr Larsen passed away in 1953.
The couple had three children, Emma of Grand Island and Oscar of Ord, who survive. A son, Alfred prededed his parents in death in 1921. She is survived also by several nieces and nephews.
Brothers, P.K. Jensen of Ord,and John K. Jensen, and a sister Mrs. Hellenberg, have passed away. A half brother in Denmark survives.
A quiet, Kind, and hard working woman, Mrs. Larsen was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church. She was also a charter member of the Happy Circle club of Haskell Creek.
