Memorial services will be held at the Boldt Funeral Home, Faribault, on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 3 p.m. with visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Interment and veteran's military rites will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
Roger Arden, the son of Knut A. and Ellen (Fordahl) Aaker, was born on March 28, 1936 in Rochester. He graduated from Kenyon High School. Roger served in the U. S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 43, Faribault. He married Maureen Pretty on May 9, 1955 in England. Roger was formerly employed by the Faribault Regional Center, the State Hospital in Owatonna, St. Cloud Reformatory, District One Hospital and Northfield Retirement Center as a food service supervisor and dietary manager.
He is survived by his wife, Maureen of Faribault; four children, Roger "Skip" (and Wendy Jo) Aaker, Jr. of Faribault, David J. (and Lori) Aaker of Prior Lake, Lynn M. Aaker of Faribault and Debra E. (and Charlie) Moline of Morristown; five grandchildren, Gabe Purdie (and fiance Katie Culhane), Anna Aaker, Kristen and Sara Aaker and Nathan Staupe; and one sister, Carol (and Jim) Seamands of Hettinger, ND.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter in infancy, Susan Margaret in 1955 and nine brothers and sisters.
