Our beloved mother and grandmother, Ella Mae Nenow, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, May 31, 2010 after an extended illness. She resided at 2760 South Highland Drive (1300 East) in the Sugar House neighborhood of Salt Lake City, Utah at the time of her death.

Mae was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on May 14, 1922 to Oscar and Ella Roeser.

After high school, she lived and worked in Nebraska, Colorado, and Texas before moving to Utah to meet and fall in love with her husband, Herb Nenow. They met and were married in St. John's Lutheran Church on March 10, 1949 and remained lifelong members.

Mom's greatest love was spending time with her grandchildren and attending all their activities. Another love was traveling especially when it included family or friends. Mom was a lifelong Cornhusker's fan. She also liked her Utah Jazz.

Mae was preceded in death by her husband Herb Nenow and brother Jim Roeser. She is survived by her two sons John (Maureen) and Greg (Minta); grandchildren: Candace, Megan, Christopher, Jennifer, and Kelsie; sister Gret Portsche (Vern); sister-in-law Bunny Goshorn (Mike); as well as Cynthia and Alan Carrington; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Larkin Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City, Utah.
Interment will follow at the same location.
