Hold last rites for Mrs. Bond Monday afternoon
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday, at Brown's Funeral Home in Bogalusa, for Mrs. Mary Ann Breazeale Bond, 73, who died at the Rest Haven Nursing Home in Bogalusa after a lengthy illness.
Burial was in Coaltown Cemetery in Lamar County at 4 p.m. with pallbearers being Charlie Holcomb, Chris Bond, Meredith Bond, Joe Hall, Benton Box, Billy Bond. Rev. Jim Hollingsworth, pastor of the Union Avenue Church of Bogalusa, officiated.
Mrs. Bond was born in Philadelphia, Miss., the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Breazeale. As a young child, she moved to Pine Grove community with her parents where she attended Pine Grove School.
She was married to Melvin Bond 56 years. Mr. and Mrs. Bond moved to Marion County where they lived for many years. Mr. Bond preceded her in death by five weeks.
Mrs. Bond si survived by three sons, Melvin E., Jr., William A., and Cage Bond, all of Bogalusa; one sister, Mrs. Nannie Anderson, of route two, Purvis; two brothers, Bart Breazeale of route two, Purvis, and Burkett Breazeale of Sumrall; seven grandchildren, four great grandchildren, ond a number of nieces and nephews.
