Merle went with some family in an old T model to apply for a teaching position at Washbun. They were going to the president of the board's house when something went wrong with the steering and it looked as if they were going to crash and be killed when Merle who was in the back got in the front and got them turned so they wouldn't crash and the board member saw all of it and said if the lady could handle that situation she could handle the students and he hired her.
She taught at North Little Rock High school for many years before
we moved to LA. She then went to Livingston Alabama and taught Psychology
at Livingston University for 2 years before retiring.
