Dr.Landers and three brothers came to America from Ireland during the potato famine(abt 1845-1852). Dr.Landers was educated in Ireland. Dr.Landers had his practice at at Six Mile Point Store in Faulkner County which was near Duncan school house near Liberty church.Dr.Landers was mad dog bite by Panther Creek. He was going from Old Liberty to Shadwick to deliver a baby. Got drunk while there from celebrating the birth and on way back a dog got after his horses and made him mad so he got out to whip the dog and the dog tore him up. His horses were a fine matched team, the best in the county according to Uncle William Jones and Aunt Thelma Jones Bolding. He laid up at his place (across from Cypree Creek from Grandmother Landers-Fannie). he curled up around saddle and blanket and finally had them lock him up in corn crib with chain to a tree and that is where he died. They tried treating him with mad stone (come from heart of white deer) to no avail.
Dr Landers and ? had Catherine and Charles William. I do not know what happened to her. He married Mary Jane Howard (England) in Pulaski County Arkansas Dec 7, 1851.They had Robert B (My g grandfather) and Maragret J who is buried in Danville. I do not know what happened to Mary Jane or where she is buried. He then married Elizabeth Griffith around 1867 and had Ben F she died. Elizabeth's kin took Ben and raised him.Dr. Landers married Sarah E Duncan Mayberry and had David Jackson. She died shortly after David was born and he married her sister Malinda Duncan. Elizabeth and Sarah E are buried at Old Liberty in Faulkner County. Malinda and Dr Landers had Nora, Maggie B, Louisa and Samuel Arthur "Arthur"Arthur was born 24 Jan 1882 in Faulkner County Arkansas. He died 28 N0v 1945 in Texas Buried Evergreen Cem in Evergreen County Texas FAG# 30277891.David R enlisted in Co G 17th (Lemoyne's) Ar Inf. Reg. 2 Lt. 2/15/1862 in Yell Co Ar.(Confederate). David Landers (46) married Malinda Duncan (21) 1/15/1876 Faulkner Co Arkansas.
