I suggest Abigail Clark did not die in 1834. She was living to give birth to children as late as 1859 and possibly daughter Mary born in 1865. Please look at Ancestry Census 1880 in Charlotte, Washington, Maine were the family is intact - showing married daughter Melissa as a widow with children living in the household of Ebenezer and Abigail L Clark. Melissa died in 1899 and her parents were listed on her death certificate as Ebenezer L Clark and Abigail L Smith Clark. Melissa's year of birth was 1846, again after the year written on the headstone. I am sorry if this creates a problem as to how to list this on Find A Grave, but Abigail did not die in the 1830's. Please feel free to write me if you would like to.

Ebenezer L Clark and Abigail L Smith Clark were the parents of Louisa, born abt 1844; Melissa, born abt 1846, married Smith, widowed by 1880, died 1899; Sulivan, born 1847; Margaret W, born 1848, widow of Horatio James, died 1910; Esther, born 1852; Charles H, born 1855; Moses L, born 1857; Hosia S, born 1859; and Mary S, born 1865. These children were found on Ancestry census records 1850-1880. With all these children the mother was listed as Abigail L Clark. I would like to assert that the date on Abigail L Smith Clark's gravestone is incorrect. She was alive in the 1880 census. I have not looked for her death record yet.
