She was a graduate of the Granger High School in the class of 1940.
She was united in marriage to Lawrence E. Smith on May 24, 1940, at Ethel, Missouri. To this union two children were born Terry Eugene and Virginia Gayle.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence; her children, Terry and wife Linda, Granger, Missouri; and Virginia and husband Larry Householder, Quincy, Illinois; grandchildren, Terry Junior Smith and wife, Audrey; Jeffry, Erin and Ashley Householder; sister, Twila Fulk and husband Wayne; and a brother, Wayne Adams and wife Carlene; aunt, Mrs. Wayfel Stone; uncle, Mr. Murel Adams; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Bradley Hoffman.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Granger Methodist Church.
She was a former member of the Granger Household Science Club and recently of the Farmerettes Club.
She had spent her entire life in Scotland County.
Services for Alice Lee Smith were held March 18, 2 p.m. from the Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel, Memphis, Missouri. The Rev. Carl Berner officiated. The organist was Betty Drummond and soloist was Guy Gardine. The body bearers were Joe Fulk, Darrell Davis, Danny Smith, Dennis Robinson, Don Adams and Jon Adams. Burial was in the Granger Cemetery. Arrangements by Payne-Gerth Funeral Chapel.
