Mrs. Inez DeGrace Shockley, 86, of Talihina. passed away Thursday, May 27th, 2010 at her residence. Inez was born in Talihina, Oklahoma on December 31, 1923, the daughter of the late Harris and Maggie (Billy) Daney. Inez attended Wheelock Academy and Chilocco Indian schools when she was very young. Later she worked as a nurse's aide serving at Talihina Indian Hospital, Talihina Manor Nursing Home and the Oklahoma Veterans Center. She was a member of the Greenhill Baptist Church for more than 50 years and she served in many Church positions. Her home was a gathering place for family and friends which were many. Inez loved to cook and eat. Her home was filled with pictures of family and friends on every wall of her home. She was preceded in death by her parents; Harris and Maggie Daney, husband, Elzie Shockley, sisters; Lavada Daney, Sauline Issacs, Vivian Daney, brothers; Harris Daney, Jr., Saul Daney, , sons; Jerry David Wall and Edmond Dee Tom. She is survived by her brothers, Monnie Daney and Billy Joe Daney, sons; Bob and Charlene Wall, Houston Tom, Jr. and Sandy; daughter, Sharian and Charles Fremont, twelve grandchildren, a host of great grandchildren, and Dale, Shannon, Courtney, Joe Don and Rachel Daney and many other nieces and nephews. She also is survived by many friends. Pallbearers for the service will be Mike Fremont, Chuck Fremont, Robert Wall, Jr., Jeff Webb, Wayne Webb, and Brandon Wall. Religious Service will be held at the Greenhill Baptist Church, Talihina, Oklahoma. at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 31, 2010 with Artis Potts officiating. Interment will follow at the New Talihina Cemetery under the direction of Talihina Funeral Home.
