Mel was a bus driver in Pomona Calif. The last five years he was manager of the bus line. Before he went to California he worked for a freight line in Kansas. He moved back to Arkansas in 1971 and bought a place in Dardanelle before moving to Lake Atkins. He has had a small engine repair business in Russellville. He worked Nuclear power outages. He is a millwright.
Milburn Lee Daily, Sr., 67, of Atkins died Monday July 23, 2001, at Little Rock hospital.
Born Jan.10, 1934, he was the son of Thomas Cleveland Daily, Sr., and a millwright. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred Daffron Daily; a son and daughter in law, Milburn Lee Daily, Jr., and Nancy Daily of Markham , Texas; a daughter and son in law, Patrcia and Robert Holland of Dardanelle; his mother and stepfather, Gertha and Roy Cowen of North Little Rock; five brothers, Gene, David, Carl, Thomas, and Don; two stepsisters, Freda Lewis and Janet Clarke and nine grandchildren, Ricard, Justin, Nathan, Jeremy and Logan Daily, Jonathan and Cindy Williams,Bob and Amy Holland.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Lemely Funeral Chapel by Rev. Thomas A. Walker. Burial will be at New Hope Cemetery by Cornwell Funeral Service.
Active pallbearers will be Carl. Gene, David, Don,and Thomas Daily and Tom Daffron.
The famil will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the National Institute on Cancer Research.
