David Kline was born at Akron, Ohio, May 27, 1856, where he married Miss Ettie Myers September, 1882, and where he and his wife and family continued to reside until June 1910, when they came west, locating at Skamania, Washington, where he died early last Monday morning of heart failure.

He leaves a wife, Mrs. Ettie Kline, one daughter, Mrs. R.C. Walters of Akron Ohio, one son Harry Kline of Skamania, Washington, who at the time of his father's death was a member of the Oregon National Guard located at Vancouver, Washington, and he was the father of Mrs. M.G. Fifer, deceased.

Mr. Kline was a machinist by trade, having followed same until coming to Skamania, Washington after which he farmed and labored at such other work as was being done in his community. He was a man of excellent character, was a good neighbor and was well liked by all who knew him.

During the past three years Mr. Kline has had charge of the community Sunday School, taking at all times a special interest in all of the children and young people connected with it, and it is certain that he will be greatly missed. In this respect he had been trained in the Lutheran Sunday School and church of Akron, Ohio, and his influence and active work will remain a source of inspiration to many.

His remains were laid to rest in the Cascades Cemetery at 11 o'clock last Tuesday morning, where many friends gathered to express their esteem for him and sympathy for his relatives. In the midst of a splendid floral tribute and with a few appropriate Scripture quotations selected by the officiating minister, Rev. Chas. H. Nellor, all there was mortal of this fine spirited man were lowered to their last resting place.
