Pauline Katherine Bihler was born May 29, 1872, at Verdon, McCupin county, Illinois and passed away at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, Nebr., Oct. 24, 1951.
In the fall of 1872, she emigrated to Nebraska with her parents where they homesteaded northwest of Strang. At the age of five, the family came to Carleton where she grew to womanhood.
On March 5, 1893, she was united in holy wedlock with John Martin Lautenschlager. To this union four children were born.
Her husband preceded her in death on Dec. 27, 1947.
Surviving are three sons, William and Walter J., both of Carleton and Charlie of Portland, Ore.; a daughter, Mrs.John Baer of Benkelman; six sisters, Carrie Reed of Morrow Bay, Calif., Mrs. E. F. Young of Medford, Ore., Anna Bihler of Fresno, Calif., Martha Bihler of Berkley, Calif., Wilma Bihler of Oakland, Calif. and Mary Bihler of Palm Beach, Fla.; three brothers, C. C. Bihler of Orland, Calif., Walter of Fresno, Calif. and John of Ogden, Utah; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Brethren Church, with interment at the Carleton Cemetery.
