Mrs. Charles Meyer, nee Minnie Holtz, 67 years old, died at her home in Jefferson Township at 12:30 Friday morning, following a long illness. She was a life-long member of this community.

She was born on a farm in Jefferson Township, Clayton County, Iowa, July 3, 1868. On Feb. 11, 1886 (sic/1885), she was united in marriage with Charles Meyer. The young couple moved onto a farm in Jefferson Township, where she spent the remainder of her life.

Besides her husband, she is survived by five sons, Arthur of near Colesburg, Henry of Guttenberg, Ben and Ewald of Jefferson Township, and Charles Jr. of Clayton Township; three daughters, Mrs. Yetta Frye of Jefferson Township, Mrs. Albert Alt of Clayton Township, and Mrs. Otto Meisner of Zwingle; 14 grand children; two sisters, Mrs. William Lindroth of Rockford, Ill., and Mrs. David Brown of Sheffield, Iowa; one brother, Henry Holtz of Guttenberg, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at St. John's American Lutheran Church in Guttenberg Tuesday afternoon. Burial was in City Cemetery. The Rev. W. J. F. Adix was the officiating pastor.
