Passed Away Thursday Night at Home Near Cale

Lewis A. Wilking, 80 years old, prominent Martin County farmer, passed away at his home near Cale Thursday night at 8:16 o'clock after a week's illness with complications due to his advanced age.

Following death, the remains were removed to the Roach Funeral Home for burial preparartion and were returned to the home this afternoon to lie in state until the funeral hour.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the Mount Olive Church of Christ with burial following in the adjoining cemetery.

The deceased was born in Zanesville, Ohio, on February 27, 1866, to Henry and Mary Ann Salladee Wilking. He was married on June 25, 1881, in the community where he died, to Joyce Cox, who survives him.

Mr. Wilking was a member of the Mount Olive Church of Christ. He was a well known and a highly respected citizen of his community.

Besides the widow, he is survived by three sons, Curtis Wilking, at home; William Perry Wilking of Bedford and Leo Haskell Wilking, of Rockford, Ill., one daughter, Mrs. (Mary Agnes) A P McGee, of Charleston, South Carolina, two brothers, Gale Wilking, Rural Route 5, Bedford, and Cyrus Wilking, Rural Route 1, Williams, three sisters, Mrs. Frankie Sims of Denver, Colorado, Mrs. Ella Pickett, of Odon' and Mrs. J T Morrow, of Shoals, and five grandchildren
