Born December 8, 1905, at Ruskin, he was the son of Anton and Patrea Petersen Jensby, both now deceased.
Both of his parents migrated here from Denmark. Baptized as an infant in the Danish Brotherhood Church near Ruskin, he grew up in the Ruskin community.
December 24, 1926, he was married to Leona Harling at Belleville. He lived in Cadams, Nelson and Hardy in Nebraska for 25 years. Hardy was where he raised his family which was his foremost concern. He was always interested in school and community affairs, and was a member of the Hardy Union Church. He served several years as a member of the school board.
A farmer-stockman, he moved to Kansas in 1953, where he lived until 1971 when he retired and moved to his new home in Superior.
Surviving are his wife, Leona; two sons, Kenneth of Hardy and Roy Leon of Belleville, Kansas; a daughter, Mrs. Orville (Donna) Meyer of Ruskin; four brothers, Arthur of Davenport, Jesse of Gresham, Oregon, Lawrence of Hebron and Clarence of Webber, Kansas; and a sister, Mrs. Rudy (Elaine) Kriger of Nelson; 18 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were a son, Robert, November 7, 1974; one sister, Mrs. Tena Calder and an infant sister.
Funeral services were Saturday afternoon, October 13, at the Union Church in Hardy. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery at Superior.
