Mrs. Thelma Wilson services held July 14

Funeral services for Mrs. Thelma P. Wilson, age 78, were held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, 1984 in Robertson Chapel of Memories with Rev. Harold Scarbrough, Pastor of the Temple Baptist Church in Amarillo, officiating. Interment was in Citizens Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors.

Mrs. Wilson died at 12:45 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 1984 in St. Anthonys Hospital in Amarillo. She was born June 1, 1906 in East Texas and was married to William Henry Wilson on December 29, 1923 in Clarendon. He died in 1966. Mrs. Wilson had been a resident of Amarillo since 1969 moving there from the Ashtola Community where she had lived for many years. She was a member of the Temple Baptist Church in Amarillo.

Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs.. Jeannie Woodin of Balmorehae, Mrs. Jane Hayward of Blue Jacket, Oklahoma. Mrs. Betty Wilson of Amarillo, Mrs. Frankie Bain of Odessa, Mrs. Shirley Jones of Amarillo, Mrs. Charlotte Johnson of Amarillo, Mrs. Glenda Bailey of Itasca; two sons, Henry (Buster) Wilson Jr. of Amarillo, Dewey Wilson of Midland; one sister, Mrs. Ola Labeski of Portland, Oregon; two brothers, Merle Parker of Los Angeles, California, Earl Parker of Los Angeles, California; two step sisters; two step brothers; 36 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Mrs. Wilson was preceeded in death by a son, Bobby Preston Wilson in 1980.

Grandsons of Mrs. Wilson served as both active and honorary casket bearers.
