Mr Gant was born May 31, 1914 in Lahoma Oklahoma. He moved to Salem in 1946 and worked for the city of Salem, retiring as the street foreman in 1976. He married Marie Dibble in 1932. She died in 1984.
Mr Gant enjoyed hunting and fishing and was an active gun trader.
