The death of Joseph Wachter occurred suddenly Tuesday, December 26, 1933, due to a heart attack. He had been an invalid since suffering a stroke six years ago last November. Mr. Wachter was born in Lincoln, Illinois, March 10, 1866. He was married to Eva Buttell on February 12, 1890, after which they immediately came to Nebraska where he spent the remainder of his life. Funeral services were held at the St. Mary's Catholic church (sic) on Thursday, December 28th, with the Rev. Father Downey officiating. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife, eight children, eleven grandchildren, three sisters, Mrs. Anthony Buttell, Sutton; Mrs. J. Buttell, Elkhart, Illinois; Mrs. Lena Miner, Lincoln, Illinois; and one brother, Wm. Wachter, Lincoln, Illinois. Those of his children present at the funeral were Dr. J. H. Wachter, Sioux City; Mrs. R. B. Burr, Blair; Mrs. Ralph McConvillel, Beloit, Wisconsin; Mrs. J. B. Harmon, Houston, Texas; Mrs. F. E. Weston and Leonard Wachter of Sutton. Fred Wachter of Los Angeles, California, and Mrs. George Way of Houston, Texas were unable to be present.
