She was born July 19, 1928, in Ross County to the late Hugh and Amy Shasteen Winks. On September 5, 1948, she married Jack D. Flack who preceded her in death April 14, 1980.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca and Daniel Johnson; several nieces and nephews of whom she was very proud; special friends, Harry and Maxine Blake. She was predeceased by two sisters, Emma Suttles and Helen Frey; five brothers, Walter, Robert, William, Russell, and Calvin Winks.
Leona was a 1947 graduate of Unioto High School and attended Chillicothe Business Training School. She was employed in the office of the S.S. Kresge Company. She was a member of Tyler Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years and served as assistant financial secretary. Leona was a member of the United Methodist Women and Church Women United. She worked as a volunteer at Adena Regional Medical Center and served as a poll official for the Board of Elections for 40 years.
Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, February 3, 2017 at the WARE FUNERAL HOME with Pastor Paul Winks officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Ware Funeral Home
