Services Held for G. Walker
Funeral services were conducted at the Little Brown Church west of Hayes for George H. Walker who passed away at the home of his son at the Indian School at Pierre Saturday evening. Burial was made in the cemetery at Sansarc. The Dotson Funeral Directors were in charge.
George Walker came to South Dakota in 1901 from Nebraska and settled on a homestead at Sansarc and opened a general store and post office at that place which he continued to operate for several years. Later he took up ranching and farming on his homestead.
Mr. Walker went to Pierre on December 17th to spend Christmas with his son Charles and family at the Indian School and December 26th suffered a heart attack of which he never fully recovered and he passed away on January 8th at Pierre.
George Walker leaves to mourn his passing, two sons, Charles of Pierre and Henry of Sansarc, one daughter, Mrs. Eva Srqiues [actually Squiers] of Iowa, a brother, M. E. Walker of Sansarc and other brothers and sisters.
Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his wife and four children.
