Tennessee. "His parents removed from Tennessee to Kentucky when he was 2
years old, where they lived until he reached manhood, when he came to
Indiana and worked on a farm near the town of Mooresville. He was
pleased with the area and returned to Kentucky and had his father to buy
a farm 1 mile East of Mooresville where he worked for 2 years. He
married Elizabeth Cox, who still survives him, on March 31st, 1835 [does
not agree with Morgan County Marriage Records index date.] They had 11
children but only 5 are still living." Listed as a legal voter in Clay
Twp., Morgan Co., Ind. in 1833. "William Hardwick owned and conducted
one of the prettiest little farms in this community...[and his family]

William Hardwick owned and conducted one of the prettiest little farms in this community. In 1835 he married Elizabeth Cox, daughter of Alexander Cox, and soon after moved to this farm, where he and his most estimable wife reared a family of five or six children who took rank among the first families. Here he and his wife lived to a good old age, revered by their children and much esteemed by their neighbors.
