HEARD COUNTY MAN DROWNED ABOVE STERLING BRIDGE
"A Heard county man, Frank Combs, sawyer for Golden Brothers Saw Mill, was drowned about 4 p.m. Friday afternoon some distance above Sterling Bridge on the Chattahoochee River in Troup County...Local fire department crews searched for the body of Mr. Combs during the night and early Saturday morning the corpse was found.
Funeral services were held at Prospect Sunday afternoon witnessed by a large array of friends and relatives of the popular young man, who is survived by a widow and five children and a number of other relatives."
