MRS. J. F. ADAMS BURIED AT FOREST GREEN

Mrs. J. F. Adams, aged 85 years, died last Wednesday
morning, July 26, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. George
Harkelroth, in the south part of Salisbury. Mrs. Adams had been in failing health for several years and confined to her bed for the past three years.
Jennie Lane, daughter of Melissa and Andrew Lane, was born near Glasgow on February 7, 1859, and on June 24, 1875 she was united in marriage to J. F. (Pomp) Adams. They resided on a farm near Shannondale for sixty-two years, until Mr. Adams' death in 1939. Both Mr. and Mrs. Adams were active members of the old Shannondale Christian church, until it disbanded.
Nine children were born to this union, one dying in infancy and the eight surviving are Mrs. J. R. Callison, Mrs. George Harkelroth, and John M. Adams of Salisbury; Mrs. Will Harkelroth of Moscow Mills; Thomas J. Adams of Glasgow; Mrs. Clay Terhune of Kansas City; Mrs. William Rickard of Marceline and Sam E. Adams of Cairo. She is also survived by thirty-four grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
After her husband's death, Mrs. Adams came to Salisbury to make her home with her daughter.
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Winkelmeyer Chapel, conducted by the Rev. R. J. Miller, Christian minister, and burial was in the Forest Green cemetery.

List father Andrew Lane born in Virginia and Mother Malissa unknown born also in Virginia. Buried at Forest Green Cemetery July 28 1944. She lived her entire live in Salisbury and Chariton County. Mrs. George Harkelroth of Salisbury informant.
