James A. Moore, age 81, of Buffalo, died peacefully at his home following a lengthy illness.

James was born in Leon County, TX to George and Edna Cotton Moore. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Flo Community Baptist Church for 50 years. He was a self-employed custom farmer. He and his wife, Susie were married for almost 60 years. He liked the outdoors, hunting and fishing, had a great sense of humor and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

James was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Dennie and Claude Moore; sisters, Lestil Neal and Lola Mae Pate; great grandson, Dylan Moore and son-in-law, Duane Irvine.

Survivors include his wife, Susie Pearl Grubbs Moore of Flo; daughter, Beverly Virginia Irvine of Flo; sons, Ronald James (Tina) Moore of Flo, Kenneth Wayne (Julie) Moore of Flo; six grandchildren, Jason (Shirley) Moore of Frankston, Tisha (Scott) Wilson of Centerville, Kendra (Carl) Grissett of Dew, Seth (Randi) Moore of Flo, Cody (Angela) Moore of Flo, Kimberly (James) Morris of Donie; 10 great-grandchildren, Allison & Abigail Moore, Kayla & Rebecca Wilson, Thomas & Trevor Grissett, Aiden, Ethan & Aaron Moore, Trent Moore, Brittany & Summer Mann; a host of nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Flo Community Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Stone officiating. Burial was in the Brushy Cemetery.

Pallbearers were grandsons, Jason Moore, Seth Moore, cody Moore, Scott Wilson, Carl Grissett and James Morris.

Walters Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
