Elizabeth Mae Charles
Elizabeth Mae Charles (nee Cummins), was born January 12, 1900, at Winchester, Missouri, and departed this life November 14, 1925, at El Reno, Oklahoma, where she had gone for medical treatment.
On December 7, 1921, the subject of this sketch was happily married to Mr. Ernest Charles of Carnegie,
Oklahoma. To this union were born two children, Lula Elizabeth, who lived to brighten and bless the happy parents for one brief year and then went home to the angles and God. From the shinning portals of the glory world this cherub angel waited the coming of her mother. An infant son, James Thomas, survives the mother. May the Heavenly Father richly bless and tenderly care for this little babe and bring him at last to meet his sainted mother.
Mrs. Charles was converted to the Christian faith in early childhood and to this profession and faith she ever remained true. Hers was a beautiful and radiant life blessing and helping all who knew her, and her many friends will sadly miss her. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, an infant son, her father, Thomas Cummins, and four sisters and three brothers. May God bless them and may His grace sustain them in their hour of bereavement.
The funeral services were held from the Carnegie Methodist church at two o'clock Sunday afternoon, November 15, by Rev. J.C. Crowson, with Rev. W.A.R. Lovell assisting. After services by the Rebekah lodge of Carnegie, of which the deceased was a member, interment was made in the Alden Cemetery.
