Richard lived with his Grandfather and Grandmother,whom were Henry and Bertha Myers. He grew up in Salem most of his life. He graduated from North Salem High School and attended Willamette University for two years. He found his love and Married Norma Peral Dean on May 23 1947. Together they had three children, Raymond, Linda, and Steven.
Richard worked for the Secretary of Sate for one year at the Capitol and then was a correctional officer for 34 years at Oregon State Penitentiary. retiring in 1984. He was a model railroad enthusiast and enjoyed going to the oregon coast.
