Is Dead At 67


Death claimed Mrs. Laura Allgood, 67-year-old wife of John Allgood, 812 West Howe Street, this morning at the Methodist hospital in Indianapolis. Death was attributed to complications.

Mrs. Allgood had spent her entire life in Monroe county. She was Miss Laura Johnson before her marriage. She had been in failing health for several months and was removed to the Indianapolis Hospital four days ago.

Mrs. Allgood leaves the husband, two sons, Leslie, of Michigan City, and Clarence, of this city; a daughter, Mrs. Fred Heitger, of Bloomington; 13 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Hershel Corbin, Bloomington; and four brothers, John Johnson, Norman Johnson, George Johnson, all of Monroe county, and Frank Johnson, of Brown county. Mrs. Allgood was a member of the First Christian church. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Johnson, deceased.

The body is at the Allen Funeral home but will be removed to the residence, 812 West Howe Street on Thursday morning. The funeral will be held at 2:30 o'clock Friday afternoon at the First Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Lelan J. Rogers will be in charge of the rites.

Burial will be in Rosehill cemetery.

To Be Held Friday


Pallbearers and flower bearers were announced today in connection with funeral services to be held at the local First Church of the Nazarene Friday afternoon at 2:30 for Mrs. Laura Allgood, age 67, who died Wednesday. Pallbearers will be Posey Earle, Orth Jackson, Ona Semple, Oscar Dillman, William Johns and Bert Dillman. Flowers will be cared for by Mrs. Posey Earle, Mrs. Loren Crites, Mrs. Fred Sisco, Mrs. Orth Jackson, Mrs. Charles Allen, and Mrs. Ed Smith. The body has been removed from the Allen Funeral home to the Allgood home at 812 West Howe Street to lie in state until the funeral hour. The Rev. Lelan Rogers will be in charge of rites Friday afternoon.
