Superintendent of the Dallas Municipal farm and former warden of the State penitentiary at Huntsville. Came to Texas from Atlanta, Georgia with his parents as a small boy, first settling in Sulphur Springs. He married Miss Julia Abbott of Morgan, Texas in 1891. J. T. Luther died at age 74

John Taylor Luther was the son of Elbert Luther and Nancy Haines of Cass County, Georgia. Grandson of Godfrey and Mary Luther of NC.
